We would be honored to work on your custom wedding stationery.

Let’s get this party started!

Phase 1: Consultation

One of the most important parts, and also my personal favorite, is setting up a consultation where I get to listen to your love story, who you both are, and learn about your stationery dreams. Our first conversation will be set up in whichever way works best for you - phone call, video chat, email, a visual inspiration board, or if you are a New York local, at my at home Stationery Studio in the heart of the black dirt region. Once I know your vision and personalities, I will present an estimate of costs, ideas and timelines. Fully custom sets begin at $1500.

To officially begin the design process, a signed contract 50% retained is required to book Black Walnut Designs. Our custom design availability is limited. Spots are only secured with a signed contract and paid retainer.

Phase 2: Concept Presentation

To the art-board! With a good understanding of what you’re looking for, I tap into my creative side and sketch many options, of which I will present 3 initial concepts to you within 2 to 4 weeks.

Phase 3: Refining

This is where we tweak and push to the next level. We will refine the vision up to 3 rounds of edits, as included in custom pricing. Working together to ensure you’re fully satisfied.

Phase 4: Design Approval

Once you’re happy with the design, we’ll send over proofs for final confirmation. This is where we finalize all last details and get the project into production. After the proofs are approved we will send to the printer, or have plates ordered for letterpress.

Phase 5: Production

Printing generally takes anywhere from 3-4 weeks (rush options available). Custom finishing, such as hand painting, die-cutting, edge painting will accrue extra time.

Phase 6: Finishing Touches

After production is complete and your wedding invitations are brought to life, we'll carefully pack up your invitations for shipment or alert you to pick them up. We also offer digital calligraphy, or will happily coordinate envelope calligraphy from one of the many talented calligraphers we work with. We're also here to help with postage selection with custom-designed or sourced vintage stamps, as well as invitation assembly. We'll even take care of mailing your invitations for you (additional costs added for these services).
